Trying to fit in when no one likes you

Often it can feel like you never really belong

That every is right and only you are wrong

Surrounding and people are big and intimidating

And you are small, boring and uninteresting

Everything you say seems to be taken out of context

Faces look back at you, angry and perplexed

Every conversation is a potential minefield

You just want to turn away lazily and yield

It is one of the hardest things to do

Trying to fit in when no one really likes you

There are awkward bouts of silence

You dare not speak and endure a hateful glance

People gather for lunch, parties and festive occasions

But you’re swamped by other things and on your ones

Some people really do seem nice and welcoming

It’s just too bad you don’t have the guts to say anything

You’re somewhere new and that scares you

You’ve never moved away, you don’t have a clue

It really is one of the hardest things to do

Trying to fit in when no one seems to like you
